Faith on the Playground: Teaching Kids to Show God’s Love in Everyday Moments

When we think of teaching children about God’s love, we often picture bedtime Bible stories or Sunday school crafts. But some of the most powerful lessons happen in the most ordinary places—like the neighborhood playground.

Children don’t need a sermon to learn how to be kind. They learn through experiences, through watching, and through our guidance in real-life moments. When your child lets someone go first on the slide, helps a friend who fell, or invites a shy kid to join their game, they’re not just being nice—they’re being the hands and feet of Jesus. These are golden opportunities to reinforce what it means to love your neighbor.

After playtime, reflect with your child: “What do you think Jesus would’ve done today?” Keep it simple, light, and encouraging. These small faith conversations plant seeds that grow over time.
