Madison Learns About Easter

Colossians 3:20

Once upon a time, in a lovely little house painted in shades of pink and blue, lived an energetic toddler named Madison. Madison had sparkling blue eyes filled with curiosity and a sunshine smile that could light up the dullest day. Her days were always full of adventure, whether she was playing with her toys, trying to catch the family dog, or just exploring every nook and cranny of their home. Her parents, Mommy and Daddy, were always nearby, keeping an eye on her and ready to share in her joyous laughter.

One beautiful spring morning, Madison woke up to see the house decorated with colorful eggs and bunnies. The air was filled with excitement as her parents prepared for a big celebration. Seeing all the decorations and the hustle around her, Madison became curious and wanted to know what was happening.

"Honey," said Mommy softly as she picked up Madison in her arms. "Today is a special day called Easter."

Mommy explained that Easter was a joyful time when they would go to church to thank God for everything they have. Daddy added that it is also about Jesus' love for everyone and how he gave his life for us. The idea of going to church made Madison feel excited - she loved the singing part most!

But then Mommy added something even more exciting: "And after we come back from church, we are going to have an Easter egg hunt in our backyard!"

Madison didn't quite understand what an egg hunt was but smiled at Mommy's excitement.

The challenge came when they reached their backyard after coming back from church. There were colorful eggs hidden all over! At first, Madison wasn't sure what to do or where to start looking.

Seeing her confusion, Daddy crouched down next to her. "You see those colorful eggs over there?" he asked softly.

When Madison nodded, he continued: "We need to find as many as we can!"

Guided by her parents, Madison started exploring the yard, her eyes wide with excitement and curiosity. She checked under the flowers, behind the trees, and even inside the birdhouse! With each egg she found, her joy multiplied. It was like a game of hide-and-seek but with colorful eggs!

All through the hunt, Madison learned about the Easter Bunny from Daddy. He explained how this friendly bunny would hide eggs for children to find on Easter morning. The idea made Madison giggle with delight.

Soon all the eggs were found, and Madison felt a sense of accomplishment having collected a basket full of them.

As they sat down to rest after their fun adventure, Mommy said softly: "Remember, sweetie. Easter isn't just about bunnies or egg hunts. It's about love and happiness that we share as a family."

That day, Madison learned about Easter and its spirit of love and joy. She had not only enjoyed an exciting egg hunt but also experienced the warmth of family love.

From then on, every year when Easter came around, Madison would remember that special day when she first learned about Easter as a toddler - everything from Jesus’ sacrifice to the fun-loving Easter Bunny. But most importantly she remembered sitting with Mommy and Daddy after their egg hunt, feeling their love surround her like a warm blanket.

And so ended another beautiful day in Madison’s life – an unforgettable day filled with learning and laughter.
The End
